Our Work with Impact Global Health Alliance
Impact Global Health Alliance/ Curamericas is an organization we have worked with for years. We have sent numerous members on medical and construction work teams to Bolivia. The organization, headquartered in Raleigh, has expanded to Central America, the Caribbean, and Africa. The first Christmas to Remember Project we did with them provided transportation for midwives and pregnant women - motorcycles that could carry them on the steep, narrow mountain roads in remote areas of Bolivia. Those motorcycles are still in use - well cared for - with Haymount logos on them.
More recently, we provided solar panels to help provide electricity for the birthing hospitals in Kenya, so that babies wouldn't be born in the dark with only the light of cell phones available. Three solar-powered microgrids at Community Birthing Centers providing sustainable, life-saving power were installed with the funds we sent for Kenya

Impact Global Health Alliance is one of our chosen projects for our upcoming Christmas to Remember (beginning in December 2024). Money that we collect during Christmas to Remember will fund microgrids for two Casa Maternas (maternal health centers) in remote areas of Guatemala which are deeply impacted by civil war and systemic challenges, especially for indigenous Maya communities. These Casa Maternas provide comprehensive health services, including safe births, prenatal and postpartum care, clean water, adolescent health, and women's empowerment, ensuring women and children not only survive but thrive. Casa Maternas also train health workers from around the world, spreading their cost-effective, sustainable, and proven methods to improve community health globally.
