Columbarium Update

Columbarium Update

Dear Haymount UMC Family,

We are thrilled to announce that we are ready to begin construction on our columbarium! This project has been in the works for many years, and we are grateful for everyone’s support and dedication.
Join us for our Groundbreaking Ceremony on Sunday, November 24th at 10:00 AM as we celebrate this significant step forward. The columbarium will provide a peaceful space for remembrance and reflection for our church family. Please note that prices for niches and memorial plaques will increase after December 31st, so if you’re considering reserving a niche or memorial plaque, we encourage you to do so soon. You may also reach out to Nicole for information and applications.
We look forward to seeing you at the ceremony and thank you for being a vital part of this meaningful project!

Please feel free to contact us with any questions.

“George & I made the decision several years ago to be cremated upon our deaths. We have since tried to decide on what to do with our cremains. Cemeteries just did not meet our personal desires. We were so pleased when Haymount UMC announced plans to build a Columbarium. To us, this “Sacred Place of Remembrance,” that is being lovingly created by our church family is the perfect place for our interment.” - Betsy and George DuBois

“We have both been advocates of the columbarium since it was first mentioned. Neither of us were interested in a traditional funeral with a casket and burial plot. But with a cremation, there is the issue of what to do with the ashes afterward. So the idea of a beautiful garden next to our church as a final resting place for our physical remains was appealing. It would be a place for family members who might want to have a more tangible connection as they remember us to visit. For those who have not yet made any decisions about arrangements after their death it is one less thing for your spouse to have to deal with at that time.” - Brenda and Rick Booth

“Haymount United Methodist Church has always been a part of our lives in good times and sad times. It's nice to know that our earthly remains will be there for always and that we have eased the burden on our children” - Jim and Sandy Ammons
