Cumberland Road Elementary School Partnership with Haymount UMC
“Share with God’s people who are in need.” Romans 12:13
It’s that time of year again! Time to collect school supplies for Cumberland Road Elementary School. Back to school sales should be starting soon, if they haven’t
already. The following supplies are needed:
School Supply Wish List:
*Composition notebooks (NON-Spiral, wide ruled)
*Colored sticky notes
*Expo dry erase markers (black - all sizes)
*Bookbags
*Bandaids (all sizes)
*Tissues
*Pencils
*Erasers (rectangle pink erasers and pencil top erasers)
*Underwear: youth sizes, boys and girls
*Elastic waist pants/leggings - sizes, 10-16, boys and girls
These items may be dropped in the box or crate outside of the church office.
They need to be donated by August 31st.
Think about becoming a volunteer! We started our partnership with Cumberland
Road in 2013. Since that time, our volunteers have made a difference in the lives
of so many children. Whatever your gifts, there are many ways that you can be a
part of this ministry.
Volunteer one hour (or more) in the classroom mentoring children (grades K-5).
You can be a Lunch Buddy, Reading Buddy, Classroom volunteer, help with
special celebrations, etc...(the teacher may have some ideas about how you could
help the most). The principal may also have some thoughts! I PROMISE you,
we can find something you feel comfortable doing!
Last year we had 8 great volunteers. I would like to double that number this year!
If a weekly commitment is too much, sign up to help with special activities.
If you are interested in becoming part of our team, please contact Denise Rowe.
My cell number is 910-322-2263. My email address is beachyneesey@aol.com.
Also if you wish to be a volunteer of any kind, you must complete a Cumberland
County Registration and background check. To do this, follow these instructions:
go to the Cumberland County schools website. Go to departments. Go to
Engagement Opportunities. Go to mentors, volunteers, and partners. From there
you just fill out a form, they should send you an email in about a week or less.
Or you can call 910-678-2303. The earlier this is done, the sooner you will get a
reply.
