Missions November News

November Garage Sale

Our most recent garage sale, filled with Christmas trees, wrapping paper, ornaments, pumpkins, and other decorations raised more than $2,800. The money raised was divided between two local organizations - Habitat for Humanity and the Child Advocacy Center. Our next sale will be November 15 and 16. Donations are being accepted now. Without your help and support, these sales would not happen. The committee is constantly amazed at the number of donations received from members of the church and the community. Thank you for all that you do to support the sales. Money raised in November will go to the same organizations: Habitat for Humanity and The Child Advocacy Center.

The Angel Tree Program

We will begin our annual participation in the Angel Tree Program this month! By November 24th the Angels with the information about the children will be on the trees in the Narthex and in the New Life Center lobby. Take the angel you want, fill in your name and phone number beside the child’s name and code on the signup sheet on the table. It is vitally important that you list your name and contact information after you select your angel.
Once you have finished shopping for your child, the angels need to be placed on the package after you have wrapped it. Please have your gifts in the Church office by December 11. The gifts will be in the children’s hands by Christmas! Thank you for making a child’s Christmas much brighter!

For questions or concerns, contact Sue Morris.

Holiday Food Drive and Volunteer Opportunity

We will be continuing our Holiday Food Drive through the month of November! Continue to drop off your non-perishable food donations both outside the Church Office and in the lobby of The New Life Center! We will also be helping Urban Ministries pack holiday boxes on November 23rd, and hand out holiday boxes on the 26th.

If you are interested in volunteering, contact Laurie Doherty for more details at (910) 988-4265

An Apple a Day...

Last month, Haymount had the privilege and joy of distributing a tractor-trailer load of apples to our community. We were joined by other churches, food banks, organizations and individuals in our effort. The apples were provided to us by the Society of St. Andrew at no cost.
