Returning for another season we welcome renowned organist Dorothy Papadakos accompanying the 1922 silent film classic, Nosferatu. Set in 1838 in the fictional German town of Wisborg, the story follows Thomas Hutter, who is sent to Transylvania to meet Count Orlok, a mysterious client planning to buy a house near Hutter’s residence. Hutter discovers Orlok’s unusual nature and flees, while Orlok travels to Wisborg. Ultimately, it is Ellen Hutter who pays the sacrifice to save the town. The film is known for its expressionist style including elongated shadows, distorted lighting, and eerie camera angles.
