Sisters and brothers in Christ:

Today we met with the ZOE Empowers team and they introduced to the work they each perform to move young people from situation's of distress toward a future with real possibility. When I first visited ZOE with my daughter Ann sixteen years they were three of four staff huddled together in a small building on the grounds of the Maua Methodist Hospital working with about 20 working groups. Reegan Kaberia now leads 16 staff members in their work with 195 groups … representing almost 5,000 households and over 15,000 young people.

In the afternoon we traveled to visit with a working group sponsored by Rick and Brenda Booth. We celebrated their completion of the program, heard testimonies about their struggles and successes, ate lunch together. Then we walked to visit Emmaculate’s shop and small farm, several of us disappeared into Ann’s “field of dreams,” and stepped into Purity’s dress shop. We were also grateful that Myra Davis, Chris Droessler, and Donna Frazelle were able to join the visit the Upendo “Love” Thurra working group.

Peace, Allen Bingham
