This Sunday, we kicked off our new sermon series, Finding Freedom In Jesus, with a sermon from a guest speaker, Bret Batdorff. Bret's sermon was entitled "transformed". Bret discussed how encountering Jesus Christ reshapes our identity, changes our purpose, and alters how we live in community. Rather than trying to self-improve through human effort, real transformation is a gift of God's grace through faith.
Each week we will share a meditation verse and a passage from Drs. JP Foster & Matt Williams's book "Finding Freedom in Jesus:
Meditation Verse: 2 Corinthians 3:18
And all of us, with unveiled faces, seeing the glory of the Lord as though reflected in amirror, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another; for this comes from the Lord, the Spirit

The term transformed … tells us that we can change, that we can become better. This is the biblical story, right? God takes ordinary men and women and transforms them into extraordinary. The weak become strong, the shy lead, and the lame walk. God takes ordinary humans, even prostitutes and murderers, and transforms them into leaders, evangelists, missionaries, prophets, and kings. ... Who am I? I am transformed in Christ
